Audi of Hawaii
Objective:
Audi of Hawaii approached KIS and Electric Arrow with a unique challenge that required the
culmination of many technologies in two-dimensional barcode extraction, thermal printing,
touch screen interaction, Flash design development, .Net, and Kiosk interface design.
Audi of Hawaii wanted the ability to communicate with shoppers and visitors at the Ala Moana
mall (one of the largest malls in the United states) twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Their objectives were to present information about their automobiles in a cool and fun interactive way and create an incentive for the user to submit their contact information to schedule a test drive of an Audi.
Solution:
Electric Arrow and KIS came up with a kiosk interface design that would enable visitors at the Ala Moana mall to view information about Audi automobiles and find out why Audi's make great
vehicles in the Hawaiian islands. The user could then receive a $1,000 off coupon good towards the purchase of an Audi by scanning the 2D barcode displayed on the back of their driver's license.
The barcode scan enables a fast and efficient way to extract the person's contact information directly into the Kiosk. Once the information from the user is scanned from their driver's license, a $1,000 off coupon is immediately printed out from the kiosk good towards the purchase of an Audi. Audi of Hawaii is then notified of the new coupon request, their user's contact information is downloaded, and an Audi sales agent contacts the user to schedule a test drive.
This was an extremely fun and challenging project that demonstrates pulling together
varying technologies, user interface design, and genuine ingenuity to create
a one of a kind way for a car dealership to communicate with prospective buyers.
